Since he began producing in 2010, Baltimore-based DJ and producer SDOT MUSIC has released projects that reflect his roots in Club Music and underground dance music scenes from around the world. After a major release with Night Slugs with fellow Baltimore producers CalvoMusic, Kade Young and SlickGoHam, SDOT brings high energy to his latest full length project Suspended Animation.

Suspended Animation illustrates SDOT’s love for Afro House percussion and airy snares, but a listen will also reveal his allegiance to chopping up samples, a skill distinctly inherent to Baltimore club music. Each track is intricately detailed and designed to make you move your body, SDOT MUSIC’s production aims to make you feel the pulse that makes club music so extraordinary.

The titular track, Suspended Animation is led by drums, and angelic background vocals. An ethereal lead pulls you in as detailed percussion and drum kicks transport you to the dance floor. Next, is Celestial where gqom infused percussion and club elements place you in Cape Town for a brief second. Glide brings in traditional and familiar Baltimore club elements as the sub bass rides throughout the track with sparse “what” samples thrusting you into the Baltimore club scene. Collide features Kotic Couture’s ethereal vocals layered over more elegant production.

Low starts off with a bang and a command, “Drop it low.” SDOT brings in a heavy sub bassline full of vocal chops encouraging debauchery on the dance floor. Next, is Tear it Up a track full of energy crafted especially for the dancers to shake off and show off Baltimore's footwork. Just City offers bars on Backk It Up, over an expansive and melodic baseline encouraging you to have a good time. The final track, “Bellz” brings in the epic chants that make club music so viral and dance inducing.

The first four tracks offer you a chance to be suspended in the air, floating as you experience the music. The middle section with SDOT’s familiar shake-off elements, takes you directly to an underground dance party in Baltimore and the album's close offers a crescendo, placing your feet firmly back on the ground.
